Not great check-in experience

We got there at midnight, and the front desk was closed. We called to book while driving, and they said someone would be there. Kinda messed up our plans. The room was okay, but nothing special. The shower was good, and the hot water was nice. Breakfast options were decent, though. Just wish we had smoother check-in.

my stay exceeded expectations with a very friendly staff and a spacious room that was just right for my needs. the usb ports by the bed were super convenient for my cpap machine. overall, it felt like a cozy home away from home in merrillville.

Recommend for a city trip

Comfortable room, updated amenities, particularly enjoyed the free parking and convenient wheelchair access, perfect for exploring the city just 50 km from the nearest airport.

There were holes in the bathroom door from someone who apparently got mad and punched it.

Friendly staff but cleanliness issues

During my stay, I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating, and I appreciated the spaciousness of my room. Unfortunately, the cleanliness left much to be desired, as I encountered unclean towels and concerns regarding potential bed bugs.

The room was super clean and quiet, which helped us relax. The location is perfect, with plenty of stores and restaurants nearby.

The floor in my room was dirty. I had to wash my feet before settling in, and the hallway carpet had crumbs that went unattended for four days. Conversations from the neighboring room were audible, as was the TV, making it hard to relax. The mattress felt overly firm and the pillows were lacking in height. I noticed a lack of basic toiletries like hand towels and Kleenex, and the rough toilet paper wasn't ideal. Additionally, the smoke from nearby smokers invaded the first-floor air conditioning system, adding another layer of discomfort to my stay.

Had a great time with my friends exploring the nearby Ameristar Casino and indulging in some gaming fun! The location was convenient with plenty of spots to check out. Definitely a chill place if you’re planning a group trip.

Our room could've been cleaner when we checked in, as the sheets didn't seem fresh. That was a letdown, but we managed to make do.

staying at woodspring suites was awesome! the location is fantastic—right across from target and the mall. Tons of fast food places nearby. getting back on the freeway was a breeze. our standard queen room was clean and comfortable for our family. the convenience of everything really made our stay enjoyable!

Family with children suitable spot

It was very clean and quiet and the room was comfortable for us we could even cook in it, which saved us some cash. I had to go out and get my own pans and stuff which was annoying but the staff was helpful when I asked them for recommendations nearby.

It wasn’t affordable but still acceptable for what we got.

Staying at this hotel was great! The location is awesome—right across from Target and the mall, which made shopping super convenient. Plus, it was easy to get back on the freeway, letting us explore more with the kids.

My kids wished there were more activities for them at the hotel. A little play area would be a nice addition for families.

The location worked well for me, close to shops and restaurants. I checked in around 7 pm, but the room was not ready. It took some time before I could get into my room. Once I did, I found it to be quite dirty. there was significant animal hair on the floor and on the pull-out couch. Also, the bathroom had issues with the toilet not flushing at night. It felt stressful with police visible at times during my stay. I expected better given the newer look of the building. Disappointing overall, but the staff were nice.
